The success story of the trade fair duo of aquanale – International Trade Fair for Sauna.Pool.Ambience and FSB – International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities was also continued in 2019. This was especially evident on the visitor side. The trade fair duo recorded a substantial increase in visitor numbers this year to 28,000 trade fair guests (+6 percent). The events also saw a significant increase in terms of the internationality of the trade visitors, with the proportion of visitors from outside Germany rising to 67 percent (2017: 62 percent).
The integration of the exhibition area “Public Swimming Pools” from the FSB under the brand umbrella of aquanale, which already took place in 2017, surely also contributed decisively to this. In this way, 281 exhibitors from 31 countries participated at aquanale 2019 across a gross exhibition space of 24,500 m².
A total of eight areas of thematic focus were presented at the 8th International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum, which is compiled, organised and executed in terms of content and theme by Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness (bsw) and International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS). The Association of German Swimming Pool Supervisors (BDS), theGerman Hotel Association (IHA)and the International Academy for Pool, Sport and Leisure Facilities in Germany (IAB) provided technical support as co-organisers. The various lectures and forums revolved around, for example, refurbishing in public swimming pools, social and economic aspects of sustainability and future trends of the industry. In addition to this, innovative architectural and engineering planning in public swimming pool building was on the agenda. European standards, both for the private and the public swimming pool sectors, formed another thematic block.
