In 2015, the co-located events aquanale, the International Trade Fair for Sauna.Pool.Ambience, and FSB, the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports, and Pool Facilities, were hosted in Koelnmesse’s modern north halls and Hall 10.2 for the first time. The spatial consolidation of the swimming pool segments of aquanale and FSB, which was first undertaken in 2013, was retained in 2015 in the new location in Halls 6 and 7. Once again this year, aquanale presented itself as the key international trade fair and business platform for public pool facilities and private swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, spas, whirlpool baths and products for the entire wellness sector.

Covering a combined total of 80,000 square metres of exhibition space and with nearly all the market leaders participating as exhibitors, the two events transformed the trade fair grounds in Cologne into the most important marketplace for the public and private pool sectors, amenity areas, sports, playgrounds and leisure, and the wellness industry yet again in 2015.

“All four days of the trade fair were characterised by strong international reach and a high-quality visitor profile. This makes aquanale, complemented and strengthened by FSB’s public pool segment, the path-defining trade fair for the entire industry,” said Dietmar Rogg, President of the German Association for Swimming Pools & Wellness (bsw). “The new hall concept has been wonderfully successful. The figures alone are testament to this, but it is also confirmed by our conversations with industry peers.”

For the first time, the co-located events were also host to the Eighth International Swimming Pond Congress of the German Society for Natural Bathing Waters (DGfnB), with around 1,000 participants from Germany and abroad in attendance. “The congress was brilliantly organised, easily accessible for all participants and a complete success for us,” said Wendelin Jehle, President of the DGfnB, summing up his verdict on the multi-day event. Under the banner “Diversity by the Water” (Vielfalt am Wasser), the congress presented an informative programme on the latest trends, standardisation, quality assurance programmes and state-of-the-art technology for natural water treatment.  Renowned companies from all over Europe presented their services, products and innovations in an elaborately designed special event area on natural pools and swimming ponds. The spectrum of topics covered was tailored to attendees from both the public and the private markets for natural pools and swimming ponds, while the new hall layout created ideal synergies for visitors from both sectors and, most importantly, short and direct routes around the showcases.

This year, aquanale will take place from October 24 to 27, 2023. The international trade fair will occupy around 28,000 square meters of exhibition space in Halls 7 and 8 of the Cologne exhibition center. The content umbrella brand for the private and public swimming pool sector will once again be the International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum (ISWF), which will be held for the tenth time as part of aquanale. This year’s program is once again aimed at all visitor target groups in the public and private pool and wellness sector. Thanks to numerous sponsors, participation is free of charge for trade fair visitors and exhibitors.
